What level of honesty do we owe prospective employers in a job interview?
✓ when an employer considers an applicant worthy for the organisation and call him for an interview, the applicant is not obliged legally to be honest. He is mere an applicant and aspirant candidate, not an employee yet, so he can't be expected to show honesty. But, being honest ethically in an interview can really help to convey the information to the employer in a positive and genuine way. That gains the trust of the employer and make him consider the applicant for the prospective job role. There are high chances of getting the opportunity if the applicant is honest and don't pretend to be a person he is not.
Thus, being honest is really important and desirable, but it's not an obligation.
