As a behavioral health provider, one can follow the coping skills as mentioned below:

  • Fortunately, there are a number of healthy coping skills recommended to a client who has been diagnosed with anxiety .i.e.Diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, mindfulness, distraction, and behavioral activation are all coping strategies that can help you safely make it through intense experiences of anxiety and stress.

Sometimes healthy coping strategies can be difficult to implement, they often take some pratice before they work very well. Therefore, when learning a new coping strategy,it is very important to put aside ample time to pratice it and become familiar with how it works.

  • Be more active?

?   Take up some form of exercise. There's evidence that exercise can help lift your mood.If you haven't excercised for a while, start gently by walking 20 minutes every day.

  • Be Mindful

?   Mindfulness is about being completely in-touch with the present moment in a non-evaluative pr non- judgmental way.Mindfulness can help you take a step back from your thoughts, potentially reducing the extent with which they fuel anxiety and fear.

  • Be spiritual

?   Connecting with a sense of spirituality (regardless of how you define spiritua;ity) can have a very positive influence on your ability to overcome a traumatic experience.

These are just few ways of coping skills and it is very important to be flexible in your use of different coping strategies. The more tools u enhance ,the better off you will be.
