A major situation of conflict that took place last year was when the appraisals and yearly increments were floated.

As per me I deserved at least 10% more increment and as per the HOD I was being fairly marked and my salary was justifiably raised. This created conflict and disagreement between me and the management.

It could have been solved much more effectively if the following three steps were followed:

  • I should have presented the data and facts based on which I was asking extra increment, I should have portrayed my work rather than arguing.
  • The HOD should have given me feedback after every quarter so that wherever I was lacking I could improve and the yearly increment could have been better.
  • Adequate communication from both sides was lacking which should have been there to avoid such conflicts.
