Answer #1

According to the Terror Management Theory; the anxiety of death makes us adopt worldviews, to protect our self-esteem, worthiness, and sustainability allowing us to believe that in a meaningful world we play an important role. Our survival instincts, and the reinforcement our cultural significance in the face of death, leads to a display of prejudice, or the belief our group is superior to other groups as the images of destruction may make us more dogmatic (Huston, 2012). In order to feel immortal, we develop close relationships within our own cultural group (Firestone, 2012). We convince ourselves that we will live symbolically after our inevitable death. (Heflick, 2018). The theory I selected would provide the best outcome in the national threat situation such as 9/11 as we the people of America have become close to each other after this great tragedy, we feel superior to others. This instance has led to the development of hatred leading to prejudices in the minds of the Americans.
