How are ballet and modern dance different? How are they similar? If you have a preference, which do you prefer and why?
The classical ballet is a dance form that is strict and regimental , whereas the modern dance is an interpret of ballet , and has been supposed to originate from ballet itself.Infact ballet can be considered as the mother of all dance forms.
Modern dance consists of many different genres such as theaterical dance and western concerts etc.
The forms are similar in the way that both were the dance forms that had equal share of their devotees. Both looked excellent when performed with grace and poise.
I will always prefer a modern dance over ballet , as it does not have an obligation to wear corsetted costumes , pointed shoes , turned out left , pointed feet etc. It has a free expression of movement but the ballet is very much stricter in its form.
