Answer #1

After a downfall, modern dance experienced a renewed period of growth, comparable to the late twenties. Postmodern dance emerged from different sources that played a role on the development of growth in the domain of modern dance era. Among its most prominent representative figures were the artists of the dance collective Mo Ming (1974–1990), Jan Erkert, Bob Eisen and Jan Bartoszek at the Chicago Cultural Center.

As a subset of philosophical aesthetics that is interested in the question, “what is the nature of dance as art?”, dance philosophy has faced some unique challenges and difficulties. First, dances usually lack words or texts which makes it highly abstract and are often developed without the use of a written plan, script or score of any kind. This means that the concrete explanation is something that is lacking in the field which makes it highly difficult to explain to philosophers or thinkers that tend to reply on the same.
