1- Reflecting the motivation theories discussed, which theory do you think is most suitable to motivate?
a. Fast food chain employee
b. Accountant
Explain your reasoning by applying to the motivational theory for positions a) and b)?
a= Fast food chain employee= The fast-food employees can be motivated with the help of monetary benefits such as incentives and bonuses, the nonmonetary benefits such as employee of the month, the team leader for the given month and so on, apart from this some organization such as McDonald's also facilitate the social security to their workers working in the restaurants. All these elements are related to Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs. Thus when it comes to the Fast-food chain employees, the most favorable theory of motivation will be Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs as it includes all the fundamental requirements that are experienced by the employees of the fast-food restaurant.
b. Accountant= When it comes to accountants, there are two important factors that can be important for them, these are the monetary benefits and the workplace conditions, the different types of services provided by the organization, career development opportunity. Thus in this case the best theory of motivation can be the two-factor theory of motivation given by Herzberg. This theory has two factors to manage which are “hygiene factors,” or extrinsic motivators and the motivating factors. “hygiene factors,” or extrinsic motivators mainly deals with the elements such as compensation, management style, job security, the policy of the company and so on while the motivating factors include accomplishment, recognitions, personal growth
