a. Are house lights connected in series or parallel? Why?
b. How is the experimental resistance, Rexp, calculated in the experiment?
c. What happens to the total resistance of a circuit as more resistors are added in series?
d. What happens to the total resistance of a circuit as more resistors are added in parallel?
e. What happens to the total current produced in a circuit as more resistors are added in series?
part(a). In house lights are connected in parallel not in series.it is because if we connect them in series and If one light fail and go open circuited then the circuit will be broken and all lights beocme turnoff.whereas in parallel if one become open circuited then other lights not affected.
Part(c).total resistance increases as more resistors are connected in series.
part(d).total resistance decreases as more resistors are connected in parallel.
Part(e).from ohms law V = IR
Then I = V/R
Since total resistance increases so total current decreases .
