How about Using JES to learn Python? Do you think that using another IDE, such as IDLE or PyCharm would be better for a beginner level programmer?

Ans:

To be honest it depends on, for what purpose do you intend to use the IDE.

Here I will mention the uses cases of particular IDEs and then it is your choice to pick one depending on the way you want to use it.

1. If you want to work with Media Computations like manipulating sounds, videos, images etc. then JES is the one to opt for.

2. If you want to execute a small program or script with one or two files using default libraries then go for IDLE.

3. If you want to work on a large project with a lot of external libraries and dependencies you should probably opt for PyCharm.

So, depending on the usage and application that you want to work, you can select either one of these. My personal suggestion would be to go with PyCharm as it will help you in long-run.
