Make a list of what you want to learn from this course. Do you want practical information for parenting purposes? Do you have aspects of your own life that you are curious about? What behaviors have you observed in people around you that you would like to understand better?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

I would like to learn the following from the course:

  • Strategies for communication and interaction to take place with children.
  • Implementing discipline appropriately.
  • Improving behavior of children
  • Parenting children under stressful circumstances such as divorce.

I would, therefore, prefer to focus much more on practice rather than theory. As a past student of Psychology, I have learned several principles surrounding optimal child development, which were mostly theory-focused. From this course therefore, I would want to learn things I can immediately apply in my life.
