In regards to the Polymerase Chain Reaction: what is melting, annealing, extension
Polymerase chain reaction is a reaction which is used to make copies of DNA.
There are various steps of PCR-
1. MELTING- The process in which two strands of DNA are separated by denaturing at high temperature. This process provides single-stranded DNA for the next process.
2. Annealing- the primers bind to their complementary sequences on the single-stranded template DNA and thus starts the polymerization
3. Extension- In this process primers start synthesizing the new complementary strand of DNA.
