Consider the joints, the types of bones, and the overall layout of the bones. What do you notice is similar? What do you notice is different? How do these similarities and differences relate to similarities and differences in the function and mobility of these appendages?

The lower and upper limbs have lots of identical similarities in design. Humerus and femur looks exactly similar and have same functions because the legs have the ability to move in several directions like the arm. Human knees functions similar to the human elbows. The fibula and tibia have resemblence to ulna and radius respectively. Also, human feet have an identical setup to human hand.

But, human feet are longer and posses less mobility. This is because feet maintains stability and balance. Also, human knees gets bend in the opposite direction of human elbow, inorder to push ourselves. This also facilitates our arms to lift various things.
