Field notes consists of all the raw data collected during the preliminary survey of any project.

It may be in the form of writings, graphs, drawings, tabular forms, etc.. and can be taken manually or digitally

Field notes plays a vital role because without it any further processing of the project is not possible.

It consists of all the data taken during the survey. The day to day data is to be recorded accurately. After studying the field book the project requirements are estimated. It is used for documentation and future reference.
