In a nutshell, qualitative research generates “textual data” (non-numerical). Quantitative research, on the contrary, produces “numerical data” or information that can be converted into numbers .

The way in which you choose to measure something is your methodology. Quantitative methodologies include experiments, observation and structured interviews. Although there are others, these three are those you are most likely to employ in a quantitative dissertation,
