How are natural selection and artificial selection similar? How are they different? Discuss some ways (other than yield) that agriculture has used artificial selection in crop production. Why would these make agriculture easier? In what ways would these traits be detrimental to the species of plant? Why? In other words, what are some of the drawbacks in artificial selection?
Ans-) Natural selection ,nature chooses the trait that has to be passed to next generation by the process of successive mutations and in artificial selection , humans themselves choose the traits that has to be passed to next generation through hybridization process.
In natural selection, nature selects the fittest organism whereas in artificial selection , those organism are selected which have the desired traits .
Farmer choose only those plants as well as animals that has desirable features to reproduce to give rise to evolution.
Many varities of fruits and vegetables is improved because of artificial selection. Artificial selection helps to give rise to those plants and animals that have desirable traits.
