How attitudes have evolved on sexual preference over time?

Answer #1

We’ve seen a drastic transformation in people’s attitude towards sexual preference. From sex being a taboo years ago to something that is being discussed openly on public platforms such as television, there has certainly been a huge change in people’s mindsets in this regard. We’ve become more accepting of sexual preferences including premarital sex and homosexuality. However, our acceptance about sex outside of a marriage (which is considered to be extramarital sex) is somewhat lesser even today.

Statistics indicate, there has been triple rise in the acceptance of sex between lesbians and gays since the 1970s whereas the number of sexual partners per person has also gone up since the 80s. More people have reported of having more casual sex while the number of those indulging in extra marital sex or sex out of a marriage is quite low in comparison to those either single or divorced.
