In your own words, describe gender role expectations and explain how these stereotypes affect sexual attitudes and behaviors in men and women.

Gender role expectations are the gender norms and expectation of a gender in a society. The gender expectations could be different in different societies and at different times. In sexual and dating area, there are a lot of stereotypes and norms in every society, but generally men and women see themselves playing a certain role especially in sexual aspects.

The men are expected to be bold and approach women if they are attracted to a women, on the other hand, if a woman is attracted to man, she is not expected to approach the man. A women may just give a sign to a man that she is interested, so that the man can go and talk to her. The men are expected to show their interest in a woman explicitly, but woman are expected to be passive and wait for the men to initiate a conversation with them.
