How have some organisms (animals) evolved to defend themselves from predation? Give examples.

Defense against predators -

Some animals display morphological and physiological adaptions. for example -

• Camouflage or Cryptic coloration - The color and shape of the prey resembles to the surrounding; which thereby hides the prey from the predator.
• Aposematic coloration - In this case the prey avoids the attack by appearing in bright colors which is a sign of toxicity.
• Mimicry - Some prey mimics the apperance of other species. It includes Muleriam mimicry and Batesian mimicry.

Mulerian mimicry - In this case, the organisms of a species resembles in appearance but are distinctly colored. Examole - bees, wasps.

Batesian mimicry - In this case, the prey mimics as dangerous or toxic organisms. Example - The monarch and viceroy butterflies.
