Henry A. Giroux’s book “Neoliberalism’s War on Higher Education” makes a case about the changing nature of funding in public universities has transformed the democratic nature of public education in itself. According to him, the rapid shift towards a profit- making college education as opposed to funded system of higher education increases economic disparity in society as it makes higher education les accessible to the poor, financially dependent groups. In our own life, the Decreased financial support for higher education has been found to coincide with the increased surveillance of university cultures by the national security state, and it stands in sharp contrast to increased support for tax benefits for the rich, big banks, military budgets, and mega corporations.

Many socially liberal and radical universities are now driven principally by vocational, military, and economic considerations while increasingly removing academic knowledge production. The dissemination of democratic principles, free thinking is seen as radical threat t9 the emerging neoliberal systems of governnace. As a result, one can the direct implications of this on the increasing number of students who are trapped into tuition increases that inhibit the possibility of economically disadvantaged students from attending college while forcing existing students into an intellectual and morally understimulated environments and instead drowns them in their student loans. This rise of neoliberalism in education feels as if students are treated like commodities and their education has been reduced to a form of training for jobs later.
