Chapter 10 is about money, banks, and the banking system. In chapter 6 you learned about financial markets, including a brief introduction to stocks, bonds and mutual funds.
Did you learn any similar "financial literacy" topics in high school? If yes, what was the class? If no, did you learn any of this from your parents or other family/friends?
Do you think high schools or universities should require a course in financial literacy? If so, what grade level (or university level) do you think would best suit the needs of students? What other topics (if any) would you like to see covered in such a course?
Financial literacy is as important as other fields of education as it is basis of life in future and can lead one to prosperity. Such topics are usually not taught at school level and are partially covered in universities. Such topics are needed to be cover comprehensively in high school itself such that t can further our knowledge of markets and how to invest etc. Other topics that can be included is how financial institutions works, how to invest money, how to read financial statements or in short how to do economic and financial analysis.
