2. Why are some “neon” lights pink while others are green? Can “neon” light of any color be produced? How do you know?
Neon is one of the group of elements called noble gases. Each noble gases glow an specific colour when electricity is passed through it.
Different gases can also be mixed together to form different colours. Pinkish red and oranges are produced by neon while green is produced when argon is put into tudes lined with green flouroscent coating, pink is mix of argon and xenon. So, we see here that different colours are produced by combining different nobles gases while the true colour of "neon" is Pinkish Red and Orange.
