Answer #1

Ozone is naturally produced in the stratosphere by a two- step reactive process. In the first step, solar ultraviolet radiation (sunlight) breaks apart an oxygen molecule to form two separate oxygen atoms. In the second step, each atom then undergoes a binding collision with another oxygen molecule to form an ozone molecule. In the over- all process, three oxygen molecules plus sunlight react to form two ozone molecules. This is due to high level of solar radiation

Ozone abundances in the stratosphere and troposphere are determined by the balance between chemical processes that produce and destroy ozone. The balance is determined by the amounts of reactive gases and how the rate or effectiveness of the various reactions varies with sunlight intensity, location in the atmosphere, temperature, and other factors

Is there strong evidence of global warming? Let's consider a small scale example, comparing how temperatures have changed in the US from 1968 to 2008. The daily high temperature reading on January 1 was collected in 1968 and 2008 for 51 randomly selected locations in the continental US. Then the difference between the two readings (temperature in 2008 - temperature in 1968) was calculated for each of the 51 different locations. The average of these 51 values was 1.1 degrees...

An experiment is done to compare the effects of three situations: Situation 1 is tested in a “no-stress,” baseline situation; Situation 2 does a mental arithmetic task; and Situation 3 participants do a mock job interview. At the end of each session, the participants self-report their anxiety on a scale that ranges from 0=no anxiety to 20=extremely high anxiety. The researcher wants to know whether, overall, anxiety levels differed across these three different situations. Each of the 21 participants was...

PLEASE WRITE IN BOLD LETTERS THANKS Suppose the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) wants to examine the safety of compact cars, midsize cars, and full-size cars. It collects a sample of three of the treatments (car types). Test whether the mean pressure applied to the driver’s head during a crash test is equal for each type of car. To answer the question, we can set it up as a hypothesis testing problem and use the data collected to answer it....
