This is definitely an example of prospective cohort study.
As we know prospective cohort study is a study of a group of similar individuals who differ in some factors or the other, are enrolled together and studied or followed for a period of time. Here in the test the subjects primarily have no influence of the test(here:-exposure to meds). Here 100 patient enrolled together either for drug treatment for standard surgical treatment. All the patients are then followed until they return to the normal activities (which is measured in days). So we can say that it is a prospective study of the patients.
