Explain the purpose of NAFTA’s Labor Side Agreement
The negotiators from countries Mexico,United States and Canada formed a renegotiated NAFTA .NAFTA included two side agreements, one is based on the environment and one related to labor.The major purpose was to pressure all three member states inorder to uphold their organisational level own laws in these areas. Mexico’s inclusion in NAFTA was considered to be the original rationale behind it but the requirements is applicable for al three countries. Non-compliance was considered not to be tolerated.By participating in these NAFTA institutions, the both areas labor and environmental civil society groups built their strong links to other NGOs also outside Mexico and where they could able to contributed to processes of institutional, bureaucratic, and with their policy change within Mexico.Thus NAFTA helps in regulating the labor laws and envirinmental aspects of all the three countries.
