There are four major models or frameworks that organizations operate out of, Autocratic, Custodial, Supportive, Collegial.
Of the 4 models outlined,
1) Which one do you think would be most effective in the workplace? Why?
2) Which one do you think would be less effective? Why?
Response should be at least 1 page in length for both question.
1. Out of all the models mentioned here, the model I agree that would be most effective in the organisation would be the Collegial model. This collegial model talks about including all the theories that decision making authority and the powers of leadership should be shared among all the members of the organisation. An importance to the team approach and consensus is given as it assumed tha the organisations can make better decisions and determine better policy working by making a process of discussion with all and including everyone. This is the most effective model for the organisation for the fact of getting inclusion and enpowerment and people are being engaged and included for the best and effective working of the organisations.
2. The least effective model I believe that would be working in the organisation would be the Autocratic model. This model is solely dependent on the formal authority, strength and power and says that higher the position of the person, higher and more power would be granted to thr same person. Very least or no powers are being distributed to the employees or lower level managers in the organistaion and the people who are at a higher position would have a formal authority for the employees working under them and thus they could control them. This model is not effective because of the fact that there is no decision making powers being delegated, no inclusion, no empowerment and no growth and motivation for the employees to perform better.
