Why hospitals msut be licensed from the higher health authorities in their countries in order to be allowed to provide any type of health care services? Whilst, iy is not necessarily for hospitals to be accredited in order to provide such services?
It is very important that a hospital should be licensed from a higher authorities. That is because if a hospital is not under higher authority it will run things in its own way. Health is something to which every individual has a right to. Its the duty of the government toake sure that every individual achieves it. The hospital authority provides a good and qualtiy care to the patient as one reason is they fear that their license might get canceled. Each and every thing that run is a country even hospital should be in government document so that of any mishap happens from the organisation's part the government have right to take action against them.
Getting lisence and getting accredited are two different thing. For getting a licence the organisation has to fullfill the norms and condition put up by the government for any organisation to work in the country while accreditation is usually a voluntary programme sponsored by NGO's in which trained external peer reviewers evaluate a health care organisation's compliance and compare it with pre established performance standard. So, licence is must for hospitals to start up while accreditation is a quality check of the hospital.
