Answer #1

Biopsychological approach was started by Dr George engel and Dr John romano at Rochester. It states that three factors all together are responsible for health and well being of an individual.

These three factors involve

Biological factor- which may include cells organism, inheretance, genetic variations, physiological changes on the body that may lead to biological changes and hence may result in disease and further physiology changes.

Psychological factors-

This may include mental health as well as the psychological well being of an individual which may effect the health and well being.

As a matter of fact placebo can be considered as an important science of psychological medical to treat pain sensation in people with morphine like analgesic. Hence psychological well being and will power was considered essential.

Social-

Social factors as a whole are considered important in the total well being of an individual . The access to primary health care, housing, education, socio econimic factors together play a important role in determining the health and well being, along with an important factor of social acceptance with by consequence effects health.

Biomedical model- It came into being in the 19th century and has been the most important elementary in the world of medicine, used by physician all around the world

It takes into account three important elements that include the pathology, biochemistry and physiology of disease which is considered as an important factor in the treatment of disease neglecting the important contribution of social and psychological well being.

Provider and patient education-

Education wipes away the tag "ignorance is bliss"

Where actually ignorance plays a pivotal role in mortality and morbidity. Adequate education regarding the importance of both biomedical and biopsychological model may help in disease prevention and health promotion.

Educating both the provider and the patience paves way to better health and community well being.

Educating the patient and relative about the importance of psychological well being in health may help in recovery and response.

Hence both biomedical and biopsychological factors play an important role in health in 21st century as health is defined as a state of "complete physical, social mental, emotional well being of an individual and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity" As stated by world Health Organization
