Being a physician in medical practice, he needs a extensive knowledge in diagnosing the patient. once the patient gets admitted in a hospital, he has to use his conitive skills, experience and critical thinking to take complete history and physical examination of the patient inorder to diagnose his/ her condition.

He provides continuity of care according to the setting of healthcare such as emergency, criticalcare, palliative care or ambulatory care.

He has to work in collaboration with other healthcare personnels inorder to provide optimal care to patients.

He has to counsel the patients and his/ her families inoreder to make them to play actively in their paticipation in care.

He also has to advocate to patients and families inorder to obtain cost effective patient centered care.
