Flow work:
It is given by the term V.dp work. This work, V.dp, is used for open flow systems like a turbine or a pump in which there is a “dp”, i.e. change in pressure. There are no changes in control volume.
Boundary work:
This is otherwise called as pressure-volume work or p.ΔV work. It occurs when the volume V of a system changes. The force is caused within the system boundary, the pressure times the surface area, to make it move. Boundary work (or p.ΔV Work) occurs when the volume V of a system changes.
