What is the relationship between heterotrophs and photoautotrophs?

What is the relationship between the stomata and photosynthesis?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Autotrophs are the organisms which make their own food using sun light.
Heterotrophs are the organisms which cannot make their own food instead they feed on autotrophs
for thriving.

Stomata are the tiny openings found underneath of leaves.
They allow exchange of water and gases in plants.
Stomata allows plant to uptake carbon dioxid and water from atmosphere, which are
utilized for photosynthesis.
Once oxygen is produced as a result of photosynthesis, stomatal openings allow escape of oxygen
into atmosphere.

Photoautotrophs form the base of food webs on both land and in the sea. Ultraviolet and red wavelengths do not penetrate water as deeply as green and blue wavelengths do. Natural selection favored the evolution of different pigments at different water depths. Red algae lives deep in the sea. Green algae live in shallow water, their chlorophyll absorbs red wavelengths of light, some of their accessory pigments shield against ultraviolet radiation. (1) Why/how did natural selection favor the evolution of...

Assignment: Complete the Photosynthesis Table. Remember, carbon fixation refers to the reaction between an inorganic form of carbon (CO2, or HCO3-) and an organic form of carbon (RUBP or PEP) to make an organic molecule. Also, assume that leaves are performing photosynthesis, not stems. Photosynthesis Table Pathway Do the stomata typically open during the daytime or the nighttime? Is CO2 involved in the first carbon fixation event? The Calvin cycle typically only occurs in chloroplasts of the ___________. Do the...
