Alternatives to increase the use and application of conventional asphalt mix:-

i) Use of fly ash as alternative filler in the conventional asphalt mix. This results in higher stability.

ii) Use of elastomer modfiiers and waste motor oil.Thjs blend of mixture shows better performance than conventional asphalt mixture. A good rutting and fatigue resistance is to be there using this blend.

iii) Use of polymers to make polymer modified asphalt which will increase the life of pavement and increased the performance gradually as compared to conventional asphalt mixture

iv) Use of steel slag as a alternative of aggregate to some proportion in conventional asphalt mix design.Use of steel slag shows greater cohesive strength and reduction in deformation.
