What is the difference between Enantiomers and
Diastereomers?
Both are STEREOISOMERS, meaning they contain the same amount of atoms in the molecule
Diastereomers --> at least two or more stereoisomers of a compound have different configurations at one or more (but not all) of the equivalent (related) stereocenters and are not mirror images of each other.
Enantiomers --> pretty similar to diastereomers; BUT they ARE MIRROR images...
therefore
important to note:
- same number of atoms
- they have stereocenters
- they are splitted into (mirror image / non-mirror image)
