H NMR

For the diastereomers of 1,2-diphenyl-1,2-ethanediol:

How do the H NMR spectra change between the meso diol and either the R,R or S,S diol? I know that they're different, but I'm unsure why.

Thank you for your help

How would you label the H NMR and IR spectra of hydroxyfluorene? Sorry I cannot post pictures, otherwise I would upload the spectra. I am doing a characterization for a lab and think I have some odd peak labels. Thanks!

Hi, the following problem I'm working on is: The hydroperoxide ion HO2- (aq) reacts with permanganate ion MnO4- (aq) to produce MnO2(s) and oxygen gas. Balance the equation for the oxidation of hydroperoxide ion to O2(g) by permanganate ion in a basic solution. I know the beginning equation is: HO2^-(aq) + MNO4^-(aq) ---> MnO2(s) +O2(g) and that I have to write half rxns for each one. I also know the answer ends up being: H2O(l) + 2MnO4- (aq) +3HO2-(aq) --->...

A solenoid with inductance L = 2.0 H is connected in series with a resistor R = 10 ohms, as well as an AC power supply that is providing current I(t) = I0 * cos( 2π * f * t ). The current has an amplitude of 2 A and a frequency of 60 Hz. a) Draw a diagram of the circuit. b) At time t = 0 seconds, what is the change in voltage across both the inductor and...

Costs of Capital vs Opportunity Costs 1.What connection do you think exists between costs of capital and "opportunity costs?" The cost of capital is measured so that you can evaluate the firm’s investment opportunities. In other words, it measures the risks associated with a project. Each project needs to be evaluated for different risk factors. Each of these projects pose a potential opportunity. And each opportunity has a cost that is attached to them. This is how there is a...

DIscussion : So I'm sure that many of us have been in a grocery store, mall, park or religious establishment where families are hanging out, when, you notice a child misbehaving. I'm sure that we also notice how the child's caregiver(s) react to the child's behavior. Some may ignore the child, some may hold their child, some walk the child out into a different environment, and some may even hit their child. For this post, I would like for us...
