Is there a trick or an easier way to tell diastereomers apart from enantiomers and vice versa?
It is simple concepts
First we see what is isomer ..They are the molecules haveing same molecular formula but diffrent strucutures.
Now Stereoisomers they have same chemical formula, diffrent stuctural formula in 3 Dimentional space and the rotate plane of polarised light in diffrent directions.
molecules have two or more than two chiral center have diasteromers.
molecules which are not mirror images of each other called diasteriomers.
Here we say R is Mirror image of S
so in diasteromers one may be RS and other will be RR or SS hence we will not get mirror image of RS which is SR
