According to me, it is true that the biologist believe that animals, plants and bacteria evolved from members of the kingdom protista. It is because, protista is considered as the structurally simplest eukaryote that is in existence. Protistans , they began their life when the atmospheric oxygen level was too less. Later, when the oxygen level has increased, it lead to the evolution of more complex relationships and ultimately to the evolution of Eukaryotes. All of the features that now the Eukaryotes pocess (like, membrane infoldings and cell organelles),all orginated by the evolution of protists.

So, biologists believe that fungi, animals and plants have evolved from protists in evolutionary course of time.
