Yes, gender bias does exist with mental disorders. When we read about psychosomatic disorders, research and observations suggest that more women are prone to suffer from these as compared to men. It is believed that when some women do not get the attention they need (at home or in the workplace) they undergo stress which might result in a psychosomatic disorder where they crave attention.

Depression is one of the most common disorders and women are more prone to suffer from it. However, in societies and communities there is a gross over representation of women suffering from depressive disorder which is due to the gender bias. Women are considered weaker than men emotionally and physically and this is the basis of the gender bias.
