Nowadays with world population being more than 7.2 billion people, we are having an acute shortage of food. So scientists have been experimenting with the genetic makeup of the crops, so as to ascertain the right genetic mix that would provide optimal yield. Here ANOVA can help ascertain whether a particular genetic makeup of crop has a significantly higher yield than its peers and also from the mean yield obtained from unmodified normal crops.
