What's the systems ethic?
What are the values of a systems ethic?
Ethics is a structure of moral principles which determine what is right or wrong in determining the benefits of an action, thought or decision for an individual and/society at large. The ethical system thus determines the method by which we categorize our values and pursue them.
As such, the systems of ethics provides a valuable framework to work through actions. It helps to decide a course of action towards the pursuit of definite goals. Without a proper standard of ethics, our actions would be random and aimless and we would not have a common criteria against which we could compare the effects of different actions and the extent to which each of those actions lead us to attain happiness, the ultimate purpose of our lives. The ethical system therefore provides an ultimate standard of value towards which an ethical being must always aim.
