Answer #1

Two Factor theory, introduced by Herzberg might help resolve this issue as it proposes that in addition to the pay and work environment, individuals also look for recognition. Individuals, according to Herzberg, are not content only wih the regular pay, no matter how high is the pay. They are all human beings who look for more appreciation and acceptance from their employers.
Employees feel that they are human beings and they need a human touch. They also feel that they are not machines thus looking for human intervention to know how well they are doing and what else they could do. Motivation is the key word they want from their employer apart from the pay they receive from the employer.

You are the vice president of a 60-bed cardiac hospital. Last year your hospital generated about $80 million from inpatient care and about $40 million from outpatient care. Three general hospitals and two other cardiac hospitals serve the metropolitan area's 620,000 people (you draw patients from a ten-county area). The hospital appears to offer exceptional quality. In cardiac care, the hospital...

This question is about the business law: In the Discussion Section, tell me what you would do if you were the in-house legal counsel for a local non-profit hospital, and one of your nervous gastroenterology doctors comes in and tells you this story: About six months ago, the department purchased a new colonoscopy device. You have done very well and at your last performance review, Bailey, your boss, gave you “exceeds expectations” on every category except for one: timeliness.
