The most important thing in making one's life successful is one's interpersonal skills. Within interpersonal skills, communication plays a major role in work settings by getting things done through proper communication.
Interpersonal communication does not only involve verbal communication but also non-verbal communication such facial expression, postures, gestures, eye contact etc. Within verbal and non-verbal, we also have cultural considerations. Verbal communication should also consider the slangs, dialects etc. because different dialects have different word usage.
In a work environment, interpersonal communication needs lots of listening and empathetic listening. The formal aspects of a communication shouldn't be ignored because it's all about emotional intelligence. Controlling one's emotions and channelising it during the communication is really important in a work place.
