In your own words, discuss the cause(s) and consequence(s) of a greater population of boys than girls in China and India today.

China and India, both these countries traditionally value men more than women.Through the years, female infanticide and abortion have led to the skewed ratio of more men than women. In china and india, boys are more valued than girls, as they are considered to carry on the family name, and also support their family financially. But in the recent years, steps have been taken to ensure that abortions and infanticide do not happen anymore in these countries. But even then the imbalance is there. As a consequence of this imbalance, many males are unmarried and not able to find suitable wives. Due to the increase of single men, prostitution and women trafficking is also expected to increse in few areas of china.
