explain Hume's view on cause and effect in your own words and using an example of your choice. If Hume is correct about cause and effect, what impact do you think this would have on our ability to know anything at all? Discuss your views in at least a paragraph.

According to Hume, we should pose a cause that is necessary for the effect. Thus according to Hume, cause and effect are entirely distinct events, and the idea of the latter is in no way contained in the idea of the former. Based on this notion of Hume we can say; if similar effects have similar causes, then a finite universe will have a finite creator, which is absolutely wrong according to the religious scholars. This impacts our ability to know anything at all as well no longer have preconceived notions about the cause, we are more rational and questioning and probing when it comes to finding the cause of an issue is concerned.
