(1)Regression towards the mean can cause incorrect conclusions to be drawn because in this case either the first or second value tend to be extreme and the remaining values are closer to the mean value,this variation because of extreme value reduces the accuracy of the mean hence reduction in the effectiveness of the mean obtained.

(2)This inaccuracies in mean values result in inaccurate values for design which ultimately result in design errors causing accidents

(3)When these inaccurate mean values are used for studies regarding accident reduction measures the measures incorporated tend to be ineffective.
