Health belief model: This is a psychological model which provides an explanation and prediction of health behaviors through a focus on the attitudes and beliefs of individuals. Based on the belief that the perception an individual has determines their success in taking on that behavior change.
The various factors are as follows: perceived susceptibility/severity/benefits/barriers, readiness to act, cues to action, and self-efficacy.

Predisposing factors are as follows :
Knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, personal preferences, existing skills and self-efficacy towards the desired behavior change.
Reinforcing factors are those which reward or reinforce the desired behavior change which include social support, economic rewards, and changing social norms.
Enabling factors are as follows:
Resources, conditions of living, societal supports, and skills that facilitate a behavior's occurrence.
