Many people believe that if a human is starving to death, then it is morally permissible to kill and eat an animal. But given that we in the industrialized world are not starving to death and it has been shown that humans do not need to eat animals to survive, is it still morally permissible to kill and eat an animal?
Killing of animal for the sake of survival is justifiable to some extent though I do not endorse killing animals for the sake simply eating without any dire necessary. But we as industrialized society which can make both ends meet without harming animals should not kill animals and eat them. We know pain is not a thing to be cherished, animals feel the pain equally as humans. We are talking about the right to life and all. Where is the right of the animal to live their lives. Morally I don't think it is permissible to kill and eat animals. There are some thinkers who think that moral duties and all are not applied to animals as they lack rational thinking. I don't agree with that.
