Answer #1

A syllogism can be defined as “a deductive argument in which a conclusion is inferred from two premises". We use syllogisms in our daily lives without even noticing it. When it comes to doing advocacy work, we attempt to use some verified facts or evidences to draw an inference. When then use a syllogism to draw a conclusion from this inference along with other verified facts. The advantage of using syllogisms is that when we learn how to dissect arguments, our brain starts working in a mode where we start critiquing and questioning a lot of premises and arguments. This process also helps us ensure that the conclusions we draw are valid and sound.
