Which is more effective, aversive or operant conditioning, in reducing the number of cigarettes smoked? Design a study to examine this question. Provide clear steps of hoe you are going to measure the effectiveness and design procedures.

I am looking for how to design the experiment, what to measure and what I am manipulating. The goal is to design an experiment and elaborate on the procedure. This is to be completed like a lab report.


How would one go about designing this experiment. what factors would one consider? what would one manipulate to determine which is more effective at reducing tobacco use?

B y rewarding himself one can quit the habit of smoking.

There are some particular situations and time when people like to smoke. He needs to follow the following plans to make the design:

  • Setting time of smoking.
  • Setting situations of smoking
  • Setting what type of reward he should offer himself.
  • Then he must follow the situation and time.
  • When he succeeds in doing so, he must reward himself by cash reward.
  • He should count the reward again and again so that he is reinforced to collect more rewards.
  • By cash reward he should purchase some gift for himself what he likes most.
