Is quantum physics a pseudoscience?

Answer #1

This question brought a smile on my face ... :) . please note that this is not an exam question or any sort of thing like that. This question is highly debatable and can have multiple views.

First, let us understand what is pseudoscience ? As the name suggest, it is that science which actually has no scientific bases or practicalities but has been mistakenly regarded as one based on science.

To be frank, quantum physics is not a pseudoscience. It is just that it is too difficult to understand by normal, ordinary people. Not everyone understands quantum mehanics and the people who does not understand start calling it a pseudoscience.

I have read somewhere that if we read any article that starts with " according to quantum mechanics" in a non-reputed scientific source, then we can be 99.5 % sure that we are reading non sense written by some pseudo scientist of quantum mechanics.

a.) What is Pseudoscience? b.) Discuss any example of pseudoscience you may know or may have encountered (or if you need to just research into and find out). Be sure to explain what makes your example pseudoscience and what its effects (negative or positive) might be on individuals or society at large.
