Transactional leadership is a type of relationship which focusses on the relationship between the leader and the followers. It is also known as exchange theory and it focusses on mutual relationship between leader and follower Transactional leaders tries to develop sync between organisation and employee goals. It focuses on reward system, i.e. reward the employees for meeting their identified goals.  

The contingent reward system gives motivation to the emplyoee. It provides a positive attitude towards a job. Few types of contingent rewards are given below
