Parent company nationals are those employees who are assigned to work in a country other than their home country. Generally, Parent company nationals are called expatriates.

for example- XYZ ltd is US based company HQ in seattle, washington, US. John is the citizen of US and work for this company. XYZ ltd assigned John a project to manage its its subsidiary in India. In this case, John is Parent country national or expatriate.

Local company nationals are also called host country nationals. These are employees who are hired locally from the country in which subsidiary is located.

For example- XYZ ltd company hired a Indian supervisor called Sundar to help Johh to manage subsidiary in India. In this case, sundar is Local company national who is citizen of india.

Third company nationals are those employees who are neither citizen of home country or host country. They come from third country.

for example- XYZ ltd hired a Germen employee scott to the project in Indian subsidiary to help John and Sundar. In this case, scott is neither from US nor india but from germany so he is third company national.
